For the second consecutive year, the Metropolitan House Foundation will contribute to the development of activities promoted by the Heroes Without a Cape Association. One example, with spectacular results, is dog-assisted therapy.

Metropolitan House Foundation has renewed its collaboration with the Heroes Without a Cape Association of L’Hospitalet de Llobregat to promote activities that support and improve the quality of life of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and their families.

Last Thursday, both entities formalized the signing of a new addendum to the framework contract established in 2024 (which regulates the collaboration) and includes the Metropolitan House Foundation’s contribution, for another year, to the following activities:

  • Dog-assisted therapy, through child and adolescent therapy sessions. The dogs relax the environment, offer important emotional support, and promote the improvement of social and communication skills, as well as the reduction of stress, anxiety, and sensory stimulation.

  • Theater, as a tool to encourage the expression of emotions, work on comprehension, memory, coordination, and basic reading and public speaking skills.
  • Sports, to promote the development of social and physical skills and contribute to improving health and general well-being.
  • Leisure (free time), through adapted excursions so children can enjoy standardized leisure activities, taking advantage of the city’s resources and surroundings.

The addendum was signed by José Vicente Muñoz, CEO of the Metropolitan House Foundation, and Mª Carmen Molina, president of the Heroes Without a Cape Association, who was accompanied by Esther de la Fuente, the organization’s secretary.

Also present was Jaime Angulo, CEO of Metropolitan House, who expressed his satisfaction at continuing to be part of a project that generates so many benefits for children with ASD.

The Heroes Without a Cape Association was founded in December 2021 with the goal of improving the daily lives of children with ASD in the city of L’Hospitalet de Llobregat. Most of its members are family members of children with this disorder, although anyone can become a collaborating member.

The Metropolitan House Foundation contributes to this collaboration with a donation entirely earmarked for the development of the Heroes Without a Cape project.
