Technology conquers the classrooms

Metropolitan House is collaborating with the City Council of Cornellà de Llobregat in integrating new technologies in primary education.

Metropolitan House is collaborating in several social projects, always motivated by the desire to help those most in need and to achieve a more equal society with greater opportunities.

We are currently fostering training and education in a project developed with the City Council of Cornellà de Llobregat called “Tabletas en el aula” (Tablets in the classroom).

This social project provides technological resources to around fifty children of Year Three of primary education in the Escuela Torre de la Miranda, a school located in the San Ildefonso neighbourhood.

Miguel Ángel Angulo Ruiz, CEO of Metropolitan House, and Antonio Balmón, Mayor of Cornellà de Llobregat, have visited the school and participated in one of the classes to see how the youngest children handle the tablets and how these devices support their learning.

The availability of tablets in the classroom offers many children their first contact with these technologies, as they do not have the resources to access them. In addition, it integrates these students into the current technological world in which they live and serves as a training tool to improve their learning.

The experience is being coordinated by members of the management and IT teams who, together with the teaching staff, have stressed that this initiative, a pioneer in the municipality, has great potential for educational development.
