“Solidarity Wardrobe”, a clothing collection campaign for vulnerable and low-income families

05/05/2025

The initiative is launched following the signing of the addendum to the framework agreement between the Metropolitan House Foundation and the Formació i Treball Foundation, reinforcing their joint commitment to supporting individuals and families at risk of social exclusion in the Barcelona Metropolitan Area.

The Metropolitan House Foundation and the Formació i Treball Foundation (Training and Employment Foundation) are jointly promoting a new social initiative aimed at collecting clothing, footwear, and accessories in good condition for individuals and families in precarious, vulnerable, or at risk of social exclusion in the Barcelona Metropolitan Area.

The SOLIDARITY WARDROBE campaign is aimed at Metropolitan House staff and those associated with or collaborating with the Foundation. All materials collected will be delivered to the beneficiaries through the Formació i Treball Foundation’s usual channels.

This activity replicates the triple impact model—social, economic, and environmental—of the Formació i Treball Foundation. The initiative not only facilitates access to basic necessities for low-income families, but also contributes to job integration by creating jobs for people at risk of social exclusion. At the same time, the initiative also has an environmental benefit, as it extends the life cycle of products, thereby reducing waste generation.

The initiative is part of the framework collaboration agreement that both entities recently signed (read here the news about the signing of the agreement).

Also attending the event were José Luís Pellicer, Secretary of the Board of Trustees of the Metropolitan House Foundation, Íngrid Plana, Head of Social Outreach and Fundraising at the Formació i Treball Foundation, and Gemma Ruiz, Head of Communications at Metropolitan House.

The Formació i Treball Foundation  focuses its activities on a responsible model that promotes human dignity, respect for human rights, assistance to individuals and families in situations of economic hardship and vulnerability, the promotion of sustainable employment activities and the creation of jobs for people at risk of exclusion, and environmental protection.
