PROJECT
DESCRIPTION
This initiative aims to carry out the necessary renovation work to expand the usable space of an apartment located in Barcelona, intended for the reintegration of people with drug addiction (therapeutic community). This six-month renovation will increase the home’s capacity, allowing up to 12 people to benefit from this residential resource.
The foundation that will manage this apartment as a therapeutic community is OBINSO, an organization committed to social inclusion, which focuses its actions on the promotion and development of programs aimed primarily at young people in situations of social exclusion and the treatment of people with drug addiction problems.
Metropolitan House Foundation contributes by assuming more than 60% of the total rehabilitation costs.
THERAPEUTIC COMMUNITIES are a temporary residential care resource for people with drug addiction. Its objective is to facilitate their gradual incorporation into the active life of a community, promoting a self-management regime that fosters their social integration and providing the necessary care to avoid risky behaviors and achieve substance cessation.
In this way, users can develop and adapt to a responsible, respectful, and substance-free lifestyle through a supervised withdrawal process with the support of the entire group.
The ultimate goal is for users to develop an independent, substance-free life, adopting and maintaining orderly, rational, and healthy behavior patterns, normalizing family relationships, and improving their social skills.
