Metropolitan House Foundation visits the PRYTANIS residential centre for seniors, in Hospitalet
The visit is part of the actions of the social sphere of the Foundation which, on this occasion, wanted to recognize the commitment and vocation of PRYTANIS in improving the quality of life of older people.
Last week, a representation of Metropolitan House employees visited the PRYTANIS Plaça Europa residence, a reference centre in the care of the elderly, located in l’Hospitalet de Llobregat.
Improving the living conditions of the most needy and vulnerable people, including the elderly and dependent people, is a priority for the Metropolitan House Foundation, in accordance with its fundamental values and principles. Based on this sensitivity, the Foundation wanted to recognize the work of PRYTANIS, a family business with more than 30 years of experience, which stands out for combining professionalism with proximity, health protection with humane and loving treatment, and the use of technology for care with kindness, affection and respect.
PRYTANIS combines professional excellence with great facilities and the creation of teams committed to the bond of mutual respect and trust with residents, in addition to taking advantage of all the advantages that technology provides to improve services.
An example of the search for well-being by adopting technology is the humanoid assistive robot Pepper: a personal trainer to be in shape, cognitively and physically, in a simple, fun and, although it may seem contradictory, very human way.
During the visit, Metropolitan House employees, accompanied all the time by residents of the centre, were able to participate in a rehabilitation session with the Pepper robot, discover the therapeutic possibilities of virtual reality glasses, see a demonstration of the benefits of therapies with pets in older people, or simply talking with users about their “life story”.
Dr. Ignasi Coll, medical director of Prytanis, Jose Luis Tió, Deputy Director of Prytanis, and Jaume Luis, general director of Prytanis, were the hosts throughout the visit, presenting the story and everything related to the project of the project of the company, and explaining the characteristics and operation of the PRYTANIS Plaça Europa centre.
