Last November 4th, the Foundation participated in the first edition of OncoGravel, a sporting and charitable challenge, aimed at lovers of gravel bikes, to raise funds for the assistance of people suffering from cancer.
On Saturday, November 4th, Metropolitan House Foundation, together with the Unió Ciclista les Franqueses (UCF), participated in the OncoGravel cycling march, organized by the Oncolliga Girona Foundation as part of the Palamós Outdoor Sports Festival.
The first edition of OncoGravel was a great success both in terms of participation, with 49 teams registered and a total of 270 participants, and in terms of fundraising, with €35,093.46 collected. The funds raised will be used to finance care services that the Fundació Oncolliga Girona offers to improve the quality of life of people with cancer and their families (psychological care, physiotherapy at home, lymphatic drainage, oncological aesthetics, bank of wigs, loan of material, home-residence, therapeutic Nordic walking or advice on nutrition and sexology, among others).
On the sporting side, highlight the 225 km route, through tracks in the regions of Baix Empordà, Gironès and La Selva.
