The Sant Joan Despí City Council and the Metropolitan House Foundation have signed an agreement to carry out this study that seeks to improve the quality of life of residents, especially older people.
The Sant Joan Despí City Council and the Metropolitan House Foundation have signed a collaboration agreement to develop a study on the placement of elevators in buildings in Les Planes neighborhood of the city of Sant Joan Despí. Specifically, the City Council wants to identify which buildings with a ground floor plus three floors high (GF+3), that currently do not have an elevator, meet the technical requirements to be able to install them. With this action, it is expected to improve the quality of life of people, especially the elderly who reside in these communities.
The specific objectives of the study are, on the one hand, to prepare a census in which the GF+3 buildings without elevator that have structural possibilities to install them are identified and, on the other, to estimate what the unit cost of installing elevators in each would be. one of the buildings studied..
The preparation of this study and the building census is expected to last until the end of the year, and to carry it out it is necessary to hire specialized human resources. The collaboration of the Metropolitan House Foundation consists of the donation of almost 50% of the project budget.
