The Foundation will contribute to activities carried out by the Association in the accompaniment and support of boys and girls with autism, and their families, such as dog-assisted therapy.

On February 9th, the Metropolitan House Foundation signed, at its headquarters, a collaboration agreement with the Héroes Sin Capa Association of Hospitalet de Llobregat for the development of activities that contribute to improving the quality of life of children with Spectrum Disorders Autistic (ASD) and their families, as well as to give visibility to their needs and promote their inclusion as full citizens.

With this agreement, the Foundation will contribute to the development of the Heroes Without Cape Project, with activities for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, such as: dog-assisted therapy, very effective in terms of safety and emotional support, in improving social and communication skills, in the reduction of stress and anxiety, and in sensory stimulation; theater as a tool for the expression of emotions and for the development of abilities such as understanding, memory and coordination; sport, not only understood as a positive factor for health and well-being but also as an element to promote the development of social and physical skills; and outdoor excursions to enjoy leisure time that is as normalized and adapted as possible, taking advantage of the resources of the city and its surroundings.

The event was attended by Mª Carmen Molina, President of the Héroes Sin Capa Association, Esther de la Fuente, Secretary of the entity, José Vicente Muñoz and Rafael Angulo, General Director and President of the Metropolitan House Foundation respectively, and José Luís Pellicer, Secretary of the Foundation Board.

Also was attended by Alex and Uriel, two children with autism who reflected the most human part of the event as they are the ones who give meaning to this type of collaboration that contributes to improving access to specialized services and therapies, and provides direct support to families.

The Héroes Sin Capa Association was born in December 2021 to improve the daily lives of children with ASD in the city of L’Hospitalet de Llobregat. Most of the associates are relatives of children with ASD, but anyone can be a collaborating member of the entity.

Metropolitan House Foundation will collaborate with the Association through a donation destined entirely to the development of the Heroes Without Cape Project.
